At Harris Lord we believe in giving back where we can. All our staff are actively encouraged to get involved in local events, community groups and charities. We have had lots of fun and some great team building events that have raised money too!
Getting involved, here are just some of the events we have been involved in…
Every year we jointly run a recruitment / assesment day at Farlington Girls School along with our friends from Permanent Solutions Direct. It’s a fun and informative day designed to give the girls a real experience of applying for a job. We start by showing them how to put together a CV and covering letter. We train them on competencies and interview techniques and then we get them to apply for a job, have an interview and go through an assessment centre. We then feedback to them individually at the end of the day.
Set For Success
We take part in an annual business competition, involving a number of sporting challenges throughout the summer including darts, snooker, indoor bowls, stoolball and football. All proceeds go to Set for Success who fund talented young (under 18) local athletes in their training to help them achieve their goals to compete for their County or indeed some cases their Country.
Red Nose Day
We usually take part in Red Nose Day our latest exploits include continuously cycling on an exercise bike outside our office all day raising hundreds of pounds for comic relief.
Horsham’s Annual Pancake Race
We enter a team into this every year and all proceeds from our team go to a different charity each year.
Local Schools and Colleges
Every year we are asked to go into schools and talk to them about putting a CV together and how to conduct yourself in an interview.
British Heart Foundation
We took part in BHF’s wear it beat it day.
A number of members of staff volunteer in their own time to help out local community and sports groups.
