Electronics Engineer / Electronics Development Engineer
North West London

 

Our client is a high tech electronics business that provides complex product solutions to a vast range of industries.

The company designs, manufactures and sells a range of highly sophisticated electronic opto-electrical devices. Products use embedded micro controllers, FPGA’s, analogue signal processing boards and high voltage power suppliers.  We are looking for a highly motivated engineer capable of operating as part of a team, but also capable of working independently to manage projects on time to budget. 

 

Role

  • Report to R&D Manager
  • Develop and maintain company’s electronic hardware and software
  • Lead and work on complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects
  • Regularly create project updates – budgetary, technical and schedule reports
  • Support and train staff in a technical capacity
  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Some occasional travel may be involved, potentially internationally

 

Skills

  • Min 5 years experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers
  • Software programming.  Experience with any of the following languages advantageous: C / C++, Javascript / Angular, Python, LabView
  • Electronics design.  Experience of schematic capture and PCB layout package such as Orcad
  • Digital electronics: Familiarity with FPGA and PIC microcontrollers advantageous
  • Analogue electronics: high frequency signal processing experience.  Switchmode PSU (200V) design experience advantageous.
  • Fault finding and technical support
  • Strong team player
  • Exceptional time management and interpersonal abilities

 

Responsibilities

  • New product development (electronics hardware and software)
  • Maintenance and fault finding with existing products
  • Support Sales team on technical matters relating to NPD and project specifications
  • Technical support to manufacturing and projects team
  • Customer support in a technical capacity
  • Day to day management of R&D projects with a focus on budget, timeline and specification.
  • Management of project risks and reporting on project status on a weekly basis in team meetings
  • Identify future opportunities for product development and improvement
  • Regularly support production, operations and sales in a technical capacity
