Senior Regulatory Operations Officer

Our client is a well-established healthcare company with a strong product portfolio spanning a number of years. Due to continued growth in the business they are now looking for a Senior Regulatory Operations Officer to join the business.

The role will involve handling regulatory matters mainly covering the UK and emerging markets. You will ensure all regulatory changes are communicated throughout the company and be actively involved in the company’s regulatory strategy while managing and maintaining relationships with departments, regulatory bodies, authorities and distributors.

Key responsibilities/duties

  • Maintain effective and close relationships with regulatory authorities
  • Oversee the preparation and submissions of documents to regulatory bodies both in the UK and abroad and ensure that Marketing authorisations are received within a timely manner
  • Maintain and renew manufacturing site licenses and authorisations with regulatory bodies
  • Manage a team of regulatory officers and ensure their personal development
  • Work effectively with other departments such as R&D, Marketing and Supply Chain to ensure that all projects take regulatory requirements into consideration
  • Keep up to speed with regulatory changes and ensure any changes are communicated quickly and effectively

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree level qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience of working in a Regulatory role within either over the counter consumer healthcare, natural healthcare, food supplement or food industry
  • Experience of regulatory review and compliance of marketing, communication and advertising material essential
  • Experience in working with regulatory authorities on product registrations, submissions and notifications

Skills and abilities

  • An ability to continuously drive improvement and simplify existing working practices
  • Good ability to manage a team and delegate
  • Project management experience would be helpful
