The Harris Lord journey began in 1997 when two sisters Justine and Tracey Harris decided to combine their talents after working with rival agencies for over a decade.
Their mission, and it still stands today

Justine and Tracey lived up to this mission, they really listened to their clients. Their natural problem solving skills, ability to look at their client’s overall business objectives and their focus on retention strategy as well recruitment planning quickly gained the respect of local organisations and a very prestigious client list.
As well as working with their clients on a consultative basis, they made it their mission to treat their candidates how they would want to be treated. They applied very specific interviewing techniques to really understand their candidate’s skills, behaviours and motivators. This in-depth insight began to set them apart from other agencies.
Candidates were being offered relevant, genuine career opportunities, Clients were offered real solutions to their business needs and this was showing directly on their clients’ retention figures and bottom line.
The business began to grow recommendation after recommendation. Justine and Tracey quickly realised they had a business model that worked but was going to be difficult to recruit for, the role of a Consultant at Harris Lord is very different from the average high street agency. They worked hard to put in place their own recruitment process that would reflect the passion, integrity and consultative approach that was needed but they also realised they were going to need a robust training, retraining and mentoring programme to bring their new recruiters experienced and non experienced to the level required to deliver the unique Harris Lord service.
Gradually by client request different specialisms were added such as Engineering, Scientific, HR and Executive, they recruited consultants specifically for these divisions and the geographical landscape shifted from one of local recuiter to global and is now recognised as one of the leading global recruitment consultancies in the area.
The internal culture of Harris Lord has directly led to the success and the team many of whom have been on board since the early years all contribute individually and as a whole to the continued growth and development of the company. They work hard but love what they do and every single one of the team is passionate about recruitment… and food!
So what happened to Justine and Tracey Harris? All these years later they both still work in the business, supporting, training and mentoring and working alongside a fantastic Senior Management team to deliver the same quality service but to a more global market.
