Head of Health, Safety & Environment

London 50K - 60K Permanent

Do you have experience of working in a manufacturing environment? 

We are working in partnership with a long standing client who are looking to recruit a Head of Health, Safety and Environment to lead their global, multi-site organisation in respect of all Environmental, Health & Safety standards.

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated individual, with experience in the manufacturing sector, to take ownership of this area of the business and drive forwards it’s practices, updating and advising where needed, and ensuring that policies and procedures are being followed at all times. This is a global role, working with colleagues in multiple countries who are performing multiple work functions from manufacturing in the UK to overseas sales offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking overall responsibility for all EHS practices related to the organisation for all global sites
  • Working collaboratively with multiple stake holders to ensure compliance in all departments
  • Plan, implement, monitor and review all health and safety measures
  • Develop a manageable dashboard to show and track compliance
  • Report findings and updates into senior management on a monthly basis
  • Make sure that EHS is a key consideration within the wider company
  • Take a lead on, and follow up on, any incident or accident reports
  • Develop and deliver all relevant EHS training, including new starter inductions
  • Be responsible for EHS audits (internal & external) and inspections
  • Carrying our all risk assessments and managing COSHH

Experience required:

  • Relevant EHS qualifications and experience such as IOSH, NEBOSH, COSHH
  • Experience in working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of leading the EHS agenda for a global multi-site company
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient at interpreting and presenting data in manageable formats
  • An ability to prioritise work where needed

This role offers remote working with a requirement to be at their site in South London a minimum of one day per week with additional UK travel required occasionally. If you choose, you will have the option to work additional days, or even full time, from the South London site.

Although you will be working with internal stakeholders on a global scale, this position is an autonomous role with full accountability of all Environmental, Health and Safety resting with this person.
