- Keep your CV to a maximum of 3 pages
- If applying for a particular job, pick out the key words from the advert and ensure they are included in your CV or covering letter
- Ensure your CV is well laid out, clear and easy to read - avoid colours and fancy fonts
- The 1st page should include your name, address and contact details followed by a brief summary of education /qualifications (if you have recently left full-time education) plus an overview covering strengths, experience and position sought
- 2nd/3rd page—start with your current/latest job, include company name, position and dates worked
- Bullet points help to keep the layout short and specific
- Don’t include more than 3 lines of hobbies and interests
- Always include two references including contact details or write that references are available on request
- Remember your CV and covering letter are the first thing a new employer sees. This is your opportunity to sell yourself
