The Client

Our client is a Medical Device manufacturer that has been established for over 60 years. They now employ over 2500 team members and their products are available in over 80 countries and they’re still growing, especially in Europe. They are now looking to establish a new division that will enable them to sell their products directly to the UK & Ireland market, as opposed to using 3rd party suppliers.


The Role

Due to their commitment to Europe, they are now looking for a Logistics Manger to ensure all importer licences are required and that they are set & ready for global distribution from their new site near Dublin Airport. Some of your duties and responsibilities will include: -

  • Responsible for supply chain management duties like planning, purchasing, logistics and inventory systems
  • Ensure that all operations comply with guidelines, laws and IS013485 requirements
  • Comply with the organization's policies and procedures when managing the movement of products/equipment/material in and out of the country. Also, be sure to comply with all relevant local/international laws and processes.
  • Supervise necessary documentation and online permit application to achieve the cost efficient, and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
  • Arrange and control shipment schedule to manage inbound and outbound expenditure efficiently.
  • Plan and implement Import and Export strategy and activities in compliance with overall aims and requirements of the organization.
  • Check and analyse data of logistics target and product life cycle
  • Ensure material and product stock is adequate; monitor usage and place orders to replenish stocks to avoid insufficiencies. Analyse data to anticipate future demands and needs.
  • Oversee receiving and issuance to reconcile inventory.
  • Report to upper management on inventory level issues
  • Manage the schedule of all relevant Import and Export law and procedures including duties, licenses and restrictions.
  • Coordinate with other teams to make plans and production schedules and shipments
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors in order to obtain a good deal for supplies
  • Search and recommend potential logistic provider who can provide more reasonable cost.
  • Initiate process improvements and cost-savings activities
  • Receive, document, keep and organize incoming shipment and deliveries properly
  • Respond to any issues and complaints
  • Perform other related tasks that may be assigned by superior

The Ideal Candidate

It is likely the successful candidate will have the following:

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Customs or Business Administration and/or related fields.
  • Management experience required.
  • Experience in manufacturing specialising in production planning, logistics or supply chain in a medical device company or applicable industry.
  • Preferably experience in SAP or ERP system.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
